Chimney PreservationIs the outside of your chimney looking weathered? Maybe starting to have minor cracks? This is a very common occurrence to an unsealed chimney, or
a chimney that hasn't been resealed in many years. When this starts to happen the rain, snow, and ice can get inside your chimney causing moisture and leaking. This will eventually cause serious damage to the chimney inside and out. Thus, creating more cracks, and possibly popping off the faces of the bricks. This serious damage will eventually lead to a complete reconstruction of the chimney. To prevent this from happening a water sealant on the your chimney should be applied. This sealant will not allow water to get in. The water will bead up and stay on the outside. It is a spray on application that is simply sprayed onto your entire chimney and crown. The same damaging affects can happen to your chimneys crown. Before your faced with having to have a new crown poured we can apply a crown coat to any crown that has had only minor damage and cracking. This is applied with brushes to the surface of the entire crown about 2-3 inches thick. The flashing around your chimney could also be damaged causing leaking into your home. The flashing may not even be there anymore. Either way this is an easy fix. We can put down new flashing or fix old and seal it with our flash sealing product. Any of these jobs, big or small we will fix the problem. (Our water sealant application is backed with a 10 year warranty) and (Our crown coat application is backed with a 15 year warranty) * Please note that the warranty on these products is only upheld when applied by a chimney professional. |
